Christmas 09!

Christmas Eve Service....this picture makes me realize what a Finely Tuned Athletic Machine my husband is....and how absolutely ENORMOUS I am getting. LOL.

Me at 23 weeks next to our little fake tree...yeah we didn't do a real one this year...I figured I wouldn't want to water it and vacuum it frequently in my condition!

Christmas went well...my parents are flying in so we're about to do Christmas round two tomorrow so we're excited about that!

In other news...I failed my gestational diabetes test by 2 points. So I have to go in for the 3 hr test...booooo....

Please keep my friend Denecia in your prayers....she is one day more preggo than I am and just went in to see our specialist this morning for a routine visit. I don't have all the details, but she was sent straight to the hospital, has to stay overnight and will be on strict bedrest for the next 10 weeks!!!

That means that I know ZERO twin mommies who are about as far along as me who haven't had a hospital visit for some reason or another. It scares me...wondering if (WHEN) it will be my turn......yikes....

And the thing that scares me the most was that she felt perfectly fine! I guess I'm going to see my OB again next Tuesday...and the specialist next Thursday...I am being watched pretty carefully, so things can be caught early I'm sure!

Just need to keep praying and trusting God on this one...its out of my hands!

I've decided that my parents won't mind if my house is not spotless and have been taking it easy today...I think I really need to start taking it easy more often...so I don't push myself! I got a lot done over the break so far...did a really big goodwill run...so I feel a lot more ready for babies and all their STUFF!!

Plus my shower is on Wednesday...so exciting!! I'm really REALLY glad we're doing it so early now!! Who knows what could go down between now and their arrival!

OB Appointment

Okay so I didn't gain 12 lbs...I gained 8lbs...which sounds a little better!!! I guess I was off two lbs on my previous weight and I was off two lbs when I weighed myself yesterday...but that still makes the grand total....30 lbs!! Oh boy!!!

I had them measure my stomach (they've never done that before!) and I am 27cm at almost 23 weeks..so that's nearly a month ahead I guess...

If one more person in a store asks me "Are you having a Christmas baby???" I will scream!! LOL...I'm like..."No I'm due in April actually...thanks". :o)

Okay okay...I love that people notice I'm pregnant...I'm not going to lie. ;o)

They did an internal sono (didn't miss that thing!) to check my cervix and he said it looked "rock solid". The kiddos have turned all around in there...baby girl is head down on my cervix (hmmm....vaginal birth maybe........????) and baby boy is still on the top bunk, straight across except his head is on the other side now.

I guess they got into an argument and didn't want to hang out anymore! :o)

Tomorrow will be my THIRD snow day...which is so lovely because I've had time to clean clean CLEAN my house...and I feel the kiddos moving all day long. They have been extremely active now that momma is so relaxed...its been so nice to "hang out" with them all day! And then its Christmas break and I'll get to do more relaxing!

Allright...back to cleaning and organizing!!!

Bottoms Up!

Glucose test today! Oh boy! That wasn't so bad...the drink didn't taste bad at all...trying to make it go down in 5 minutes was hard though because it was so cold!

When I went to get my blood drawn (my OB doesn't agree with the specialist and says that I should be getting the glucose test done at 28 weeks...and probably will be giving it to me again then) I asked the nurse if I could weigh myself.

Why do I do this to myself???

If my calculations are correct...I have gained 12 lbs in a month. NOT GOOD. Scary actually. My actual OB appointment is tomorrow...so we shall see what they say.

The weird thing is that I haven't been doing the "cheeseburger-a-day" thing for this whole month! I've been eating three regular meals...nothing extraordinary! So this is a bit alarming to me...hmmm....

Hopefully everything is okay in there...I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Okay...I'm not 22 weeks until tomorrow...but here's the pic a day early!! :o)

My pain that is...oh nelly...it hurts.

I was limping around all day...and almost thought about calling my doctor. I don't know if its just regular pregnancy pain from my body being stretched to the max in a very fast forward manner, or if this is something to be concerned about. I hear a lot of preggo gals complaining about hip pain so I'm probably just feeling some normal pregnancy discomfort.

Lifting my leg to pull on pants hurts....getting up from a sitting position hurts...walking hurts. Ugh. And my aid, who is a twin mom, said..."I wish I could tell you its going to get better...but its just going to get worse"...oh boy.

I asked my mom yesterday if this really was going to work....can a woman's body REALLY stretch out to hold two babies...is my skin going to rip and little babies come flying out...

My mother assured me that no...they will be fine....yes...my body can do this.

Man, I feel stretched to the max though!

But each little kick inside my body (okay...they're starting to be BIG kicks) reminds me of why I feel this way...and its worth it.

But I may not being working through my third trimester if I can help it!! :o) My Kindergarteners have to get EVERYTHING for me...I drop a paper, I need something across the room...they get it....and they love helping the teacher so thats good. I may miss this class a little bit when I'm gone...they're a bunch of sweeties for the most part!

We have decided to adopt out our biggest dog, the Chesapeake Bay Retriever....that breed just has so much energy and we do not and definitely WILL not have enough time to give him the attention that he needs. We are going to take him to meet a family who's Chesapeake just died last year so they know how to handle him. Plus they have three boys, so Coastie will absolutely be in heaven! We'll see if Coastie thinks they are a good fit!

We still have two dogs and two cats...and then two kids....wow....but the other two dogs are small and easy to exercise. I feel bad passing Coastie on...but I know its for the best.

Can't believe next week is Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My baby shower (YES....I AM HAVING A BABY SHOWER....WOW) is going to be on December 30th. I am so excited. I never thought this day would come! We are having it early for several reasons (just in case I go on bedrest etc etc) but the main one is that DH's out of town family and my family will be in town for Christmas, so that would be the only time they'd be able to attend unless we have it after the babies arrive!

It should be fun because its mostly going to be family and people who know what we've been through to get this far (no questions like "do twins run in the family?" and "oh are they identical?" yeah...I've gotten that last one twice now....HOW WOULD THEY BE IDENTICAL IF I JUST TOLD YOU THEY ARE A BOY AND A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!??????????) Unbelievable. Yeah they're identical except for their private areas. Nice. :o)

21 Weeks!!

Everyone is doing well...they are both measuring 14oz....and exactly 21 weeks! So they are right on target! Baby girl's heinie is sitting on my cervix...and her feet are on my bladder...I think I could have guessed that one!!! Not the most comfortable place for her to be!! Baby boy is still pretty much across my stomach but is now a bit above my belly button.

They were VERY wiggly...and we got about twenty pictures of them...the sonographer (is that what she's called??) was really nice....she made us hide the pictures before the doctor came in...LOL...I scanned the best ones to show you all though!

And here's momma....feeling enormous...are you sure there's only about two pounds of baby in there???? :o)

CRIBS!!!!

Thanksgiving day DH's grandma called us up to say she wanted to buy both our cribs....so we couldn't help it...we had to rush out and get them right away! :o)

DH picked them up yesterday and we decided to set them up today! They look so adorable...now I just need my glider so that I can sit and dream of the day there will be two little sleeping (crying, pooping etc....etc...) miracles in them!

Buttercup was not too sure about what was going on..."am I getting replaced?".....yup. *wink*

Brrr....is that snow!!?? YUP!!! There's about an inch or two on the ground now!

Yeah...I totally haven't showered yet...good 'ol Saturday mornings! :o) Can't wait to put their names over their cribs...we've decided on the boy's name...but can't quite agree on the girl's name yet...we're trying out calling her one of the names today to see if it fits...we'll see!!!

And in other baby news...did I tell you that DH felt one of them kick the other day?? One of them was kicking pretty swiftly and I could feel it on the outside...and SEE it on the outside so finally he was there when it was happening (right in the middle of dinner!)...it was way too fun to share that with him finally!

And my newest craving...MILK....WHOLE MILK....I can't get enough of it...I even got up at 2:30am and had some milk today!! Sure helps with the heartburn too. I usually hate drinking milk (mom and dad used to make me drink it at every meal...ugh)...but I guess I need some calcium in my diet!

Next weekend DH wants to put up the closet organizer so that I can hang up all the little clothes that we've bought....and my appointment with the specialist is on Thursday so I'm excited about that! I hear its a loooong one...an hour+ just staring at my babies! YAY!! Definitely took a half day on Thursday...don't anyone getting their panties up in a bunch at work! :o)
