Happy Turkey Day!

Well this turkey day started out early for me...I keep waking up at 5:00am or earlier...because I'm STARVING...so I figured I'd look at some of my old posts from last year. I was so surprised when I ran across this one from January 28th of this year...I'm telling about a dream I'd had that night...and this was when we were researching adoption...but I feel like maybe I had the location mixed up...and some of the story mixed up...and maybe....well...just read it!! :o)

"I dreamed that I went to Russia to visit my sister. (My sister does not live in Russia...she lives in VA...but hey...its a dream okay?) On my way to see her I passed an orphanage and thought I'd try to see if I could visit some children. They had a bunch of children playing around but they said that more children were in the back. I asked if I could go back there and they said yes so I followed them to the back of the building behind a large curtain. They asked me what age I was looking for and I said I'd like a sibling group of two under the age of 5. I also mentioned that I would like for them to be caucasian (since there are so many african american and hispanic children in Russia!! *wink*).

They brought me the CUTEST little boy and girl. They must have been twins because they both looked about two years old. The little girl looked a lot like me when I was young and they both were wrapped up in really big puffy snow suits. They both smiled at me and in my heart I KNEW these were my children...my heart never felt so full! I hugged both of them and cried tears of joy!"

I get teary just reading this! Do you think maybe God gave me a vision of my children...ten months ago??? I'm so glad I found this post today...I can vaguely remember the dream...and the two little miracles in it...and I keep replaying it in my mind.

*sigh*

What a great thanksgiving day gift. Thank you God for my little ones.

19 weeks tomorrow!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for!! What a difference a year makes...

I went to the ob today and my blood pressure was way up. It was way up because I had been feeling baby girl moving a whole lot (they told me I wouldn't really feel her too much because her placenta is in the way) and hadn't felt baby boy since Sunday...and he was the one I predominantly felt for the past couple weeks. So I was kindof...nervous...about what they might find.

The doc came in and said "Whoa, what's up with your blood pressure?"

And I said "Just show me my baby boy and then we can redo it!"

She rolled the ultrasound right on top of my belly button (not the most comfortable thing) and there he was...not moving...but she said she could see his little heart flickering. I saw nothing. Then, he moved....arched his back so he was almost bent in half...he was like "HEY LADY GET OFF OF ME!!!" And then when he was still again I could see that little heart flickering....

*phew*

So then after the appointment they redid my blood pressure...and it was completely normal.

:o)
Oh...and did I mention my total weight gain for this pregnancy?
22lbs
WOWZAH!!!!!!!!! That means I've gained 11lbs in FIVE WEEKS....I say it again...WOWZAH....so if my goal was about 24lbs in 24 weeks...I guess I've made it there....and then some!!!! The ob said that she was not concerned at all...that I was doing just fine...and according to my books I'm good too....but its so crazy to me that I could put on that much weight in such a short amount of time!!!
I guess a cheeseburger a day isn't so good for you. :o)

After the appointment I went and got my hair did...feels good to have a style...though I can't wait to wash it and style it myself! And of course I rocked my XL Mom in Training shirt!! :o) That thing is so comfy...and I think it'll stretch with me all the way to the end of this pregnancy!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

18w belly shot!

Wow...again I say...WOW. I don't feel like I look that big...but then I see the pictures...and wow. Does the saying "The camera adds ten pounds" apply to still shots or video only? I'm thinking still shots too.

Maybe I will have to limit my burger days!!! :o)

And I guess my face is swelling a bit...right along with my heinie and thighs... :o)

But if big momma = healthy babies....bring it on!!!

18 weeks!

Wow...I remember when I was excited about 8 weeks...and here we are at 18 weeks already! Halfway there!!! WOO HOO!!!

DH has been busy getting the nursery ready....here are a few shots of him putting in a new door and the beautiful chair railing and paint job he did!

Now this is the only six paneled door in our upstairs hallway...lol...we need to do the other doors too now!!!

I told DH I wanted the light green on top and a slightly darker shade of green on the bottom...and this is what I came home to. LOL...I guess it looks okay...but I'm worried about it matching the little girl's bedding! I guess it goes with the boy's bedding....we bought a blanket from his bedding to choose the paint colors, but couldn't find a small blanket in her bedding...so hopefully it looks okay!! I was told that if it doesn't look okay...it will be repainted. *phew* :o)

I also went to a children's consignment shop this week. I had the worst day ever on Thursday...I've had so many kids out with fevers and nasty coughs (swine flu anyone)...10 over the past two weeks to be exact....and so it hasn't been too fun in my classroom...trying to dodge germs. Plus I had an irate mother call me several times before I had the chance to call her back saying that her daughter had come home with a 103 fever the day before.

I felt HORRIBLE that that happend...but this little girl was acting normal...looked normal and didn't tell me she was feeling bad! She even helped me pass out papers at the end of the day....I don't touch the kids throughout the day so if she doesn't look sick, act sick and doesn't tell me...I don't know!! But I still felt absolutely horrible. I assured the mother that as a very vulnerable pregnant woman there is no way I would allow a child with a fever to remain in my classroom if I had ANY idea that they had one.

Still felt horrible though...

PLUS that day one of my coworkers came up to me and said "Oh hey! How are you feeling? WOW...your face is really starting to swell isn't it??!! But you still look great though!!"

To which I replied "Oh thanks...would you like to comment on the current state of my heinie too because I'm sure that's getting bigger too!!!!!!!!!!"

Wait...I didn't say that. *sigh* But I wanted to...who says that....to a pregnant woman??? Tell me I'm glowing...tell my I look great....I know I'm getting FAT...I'm trying to get fat!!!!!!!!! But that comment just threw my whole day off. I just wanted to go home. *sigh*

ANYHOO....all that to say I asked hubby if I could go to the consignment shop to buy something for the kiddos because I needed a little retail therapy. So I found this baby carrier for $8.50 and I just had to have it...I thought it was way too cute. And I had to have DH try it on!!! What a good sport! :o)

He wasn't smiling all the way because this was the fourth picture I had taken of him....I had it on the stupid night vision setting for some reason and all the other pictures kept coming out blurry....lol...anyways...how cute is that?? It probably wasn't the best idea to get a non-gender neutral carrier...but oh well...for 8 bucks I couldn't pass it up!!!

No big plans for this weekend...going to a friend's daughter's high school play tonight...Willy Wonka! Should be fun! Then tomorrow I think I'm going to get my hair colored....its been a while...18 weeks to be exact :o) Then conferences from 8am-7pm Monday....ugh. All I have to do is show up on Tuesday and then its time for a nice break!!

Have a great weekend!

Nighttime Peds visit...

I'm about to head over to Nighttime because Thursday night I SHOT out of bed with a leg cramp that went away thankfully after a minute or two....but the muscle soreness/tenderness has not. Yesterday I was limping all around and today I still feel like I pulled a muscle.

Internet junkie/book reader that I am...I discovered that this may not be normal and could possibly be a blood clot.

So I'm going to get it checked out.

Please keep me and my little ones in your prayers...that this is simply an after effect of a nasty leg cramp and not something terribly more serious!!!

**Update**

The doc said that he doesn't think its something more serious but he can't be 100% sure, so he suggested I call my OB...which I would have done in the first place, but I didn't realize that I should use the "emergency" number for this type of thing...though I guess if it was a clot it could be an emergency. I dunno. But he said that if it were a clot it would probably be inflamed and swollen and tender to the lightest touch...and its more tender when you push on it.

Maybe I overreacted...but I'd rather be safe than sorry!!

TEAM PINK AND BLUE!!

Its official!! We are having a boy and a girl! YAY!!! :o) I'm super tired...all this rain and too much excitement makes for one tired momma...I've got chocolate chip cookies coming straight out of the oven and I'm going to eat them in bed with some milk...yummy!!!

Here are my cuties!!

Here is Baby B (MY BOY!) sucking on his thumb...again....oh boy!

And here is mommy's little singer...Baby A!

Cool pic of both of them. Baby B was not cooperating too well...Baby A was putting on a show!

Here is our first 4D pic! Baby Girl is facing us and Baby Boy is sleeping with his back towards us...he wasn't in the mood for photos! :o)

16 weeks belly pic!

I figured I'd take this pic on the exact day I became 16 weeks pregnant!! :o) I was letting it ALL hang out in this pic...lol...DH said I don't look this big in real life....but I think I'm pretty close!! Can't wait to hop on that scale in a week!! OH BOY!!! I just keep staring at this picture...and I look enormous...wow...I really think I was pushing my belly out a bit...WOWOWOW... :o) No wonder I'm having trouble sleeping...and getting around!

Over it...

Thanks for your responses about the work drama. I've decided that I'm okay now...I will get to leave early in the year and don't have to deal with those people...so I'm going to stay happy for my babies!!!! :o)

Plus I read that they can start to hear at 16 weeks!!! YAYAYY...so I want the first thing they hear is mommy's happy voice...not her complaining about work drama ;o)

Haven't vomited yet this week (knock on wood)...actually since last Thursday!! YAY!!! And I actually made EGGS for breakfast all this week...and that was a word I couldn't even SAY for the past 8 weeks. (we called it the "e" word...and DH was not allowed to have them either...ughh...)

Work drama...

Why do people have to be mean?

Especially the ones I work with?

Can't we be a little understanding people????

So last Thursday I called work to say I was going to be a little late because the good 'ol morning sickness had hit me again....hard. I was vomiting before my shower...thought I was good to go and then started to head out the door when I raced back in and vomited my entire breakfast (some getting in my hair and on my glasses...nice). So I had to clean myself up...and regain control of my innards before I headed to the car.

Just fyi we have to be at work at 7:40 and the kiddos come at 7:50.

I tell the secretary that I've just finished vomiting my brains out, could she please let my team know I'll be a little late?

I get to work at 7:52...the kids were just let in two minutes ago...and no one was in my room. No one even came in later to say "Oh you're here..good!"

So did the secretary not let my coworkers know? Well that day was our halloween parade and everything so I got sidetracked and never investigated further.

THEN today, another coworker told me that she was walking through our area (we have open space classrooms) and heard the secretary page one of my teammates, letting them know that I'd be running late. After the teacher said thank you to the secretary, she spoke to the other teacher in the room saying something to the effect of....

"Oh, she thinks she can just come late and leave early whenever she wants...must be nice..."

And the other one laughed and agreed.

YEAH...I JUST COME LATE WHENEVER I WANT. BECAUSE I LOVE WASHING VOMIT OUT OF MY HAIR AND PUTTING MY MAKEUP ON AT MY DESK BECAUSE I'M TOO SICK TO PUT IT ON IN THE MORNING...

And leaving early?????!!! The only time I leave early is for my drs appointments....and I'm sorry those are quite frequent...but I'M CARRYING TWINS PEOPLE....and it doesn't really affect you....and the principal has no problem with it....so BUG OFF.

Ugh...I wish that person had not told me they said that. There's too much drama back in kindergarten already....way too much. So now I feel all sick to my stomach (so what else is new)....but I can't do anything about it!!! I can't help it if I'm sick. If I get up earlier I feel sicker...and I'm already going to bed at 8:30!

I'm sorry they can't understand that yes, morning sickness may last longer with twins...and yes my dr. was talking about putting me on a prescription if it didn't clear up soon.

Good grief.

AND they didn't even tell anyone to come sit in my room...like an aide or something...nope..."Well...she's just gonna be late and we don't like that so lets have her kids just fend for themselves".

Great.

Maybe I'll talk with them tomorrow and get to the bottom of this...

Well...at least as to why they didn't assign anyone to my room. But then...maybe too much time has passed. So annoying.

And that's my drama.

Bedding!

So I haven't bought any bedding yet...but I wanted to go out to all the stores and see all the bedding there was to see (seeing it online doesn't suffice...sometimes it looks cheap and cheezy in the store!!) should I have to go on bedrest at any point in time...just trying to enjoy every moment...and hoping that will NOT happen!!! But being prepared...

Anyhoo...I was getting frustrated because I didn't really want gender neutral bedding....I know their genders!!!!! I knew what I'd get for two boys...and for two girls...but one of each????

Most of the things we liked were just so boyish...we've been looking mainly at jungle themed stuff...and I couldn't see my little girl residing in such...manly...bedding. But we certainly can't have anything pink in the boys crib either!!!!!!!

So here are a few....okay TWO options that I found...that actually sortof flow together...and yet are very gender specific!!!

These are too cute...but a little plain...but still really cute. I love how similar they are...and the polka dots are too cute!! Not really jungle themed though....but still an option. (Btw....these were at Bur.lin.ton Coat F.actory...and I did not find them on their website...but they were in the store)

Next, my friend told me that she really loved this purple monkey bedding she saw, so I went to check it out and see if it flowed with some manly jungle bedding we liked. I was SOOOOOOO excited when I discovered that they made a green set and a purple set!!!!!!! Some things are a little different...but the main stuff is the same!!!

Cute huh??? But what color would I paint the walls???????? Orange??? Brown??? If I went with green the boy bedding would just be lost...I guess I could just stick with a boring cream color...but I LOVE color on my walls!!!

I was happy to discover that these bedding sets are found on the internet for about $40 cheaper than they were selling them in the store...good to know.

I still have a while til I have to decide on bedding...but its nice to know that I may have found "THE ONES"...I was starting to get really frustrated....and wanted to especially let my other boy/girl twin mommy friends know that there are some options out there for us!!! Let me know if you gals find anything too!!!

Oh and here's the belly pic...this was actually last Sunday evening...so I was 14 weeks....note to self....stripes across=I look very wide. Yikes. :o)

Plus I was kindof trying to poke my belly out there....cause my friend's belly is super cute and big...she's 34 weeks in this picture....

I need to take more official pictures though!!! The time is passing so quickly!!!
