Ugh.

I've been sitting here thinking about our 3 day transfer. I keep wondering...why are we doing a three day in stead of a five day?? I thought the embryos are way better at blast stage...why are we not waiting until then??

So I decided to do some online research...one dr. said that the reason REs do 3 day transfers is because the embryos are not that great and so they often put in several (sometimes meaning 3+) at that time. They didn't mention putting in several for me...but...does this mean my embies don't look so good? Why can't we wait until they're strong?

My RE told me in the beginning that he wants to do a 5dt because that is when they'd usually be in the uterus after their journey down the fallopian tubes...so it'd be all ready to implant. Now that the game plan has changed I'm just feeling...worried...scared...ugh.

What have you girls heard? Guess I can't really argue with someone who does this for a living...but I'm just a little concerned...

Day 3 transfer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My nurse called me today and told me that I have 8 embabies and they already know which ones they want to put in so we're doing a three day transfer tomorrow at 11:15 unless I hear otherwise before then!!!

I have to tell you my heart was RACING...excited..nervous...totally shocked! I really expected them to wait until they were blasts!! So I quick made an acupuncture appointment for today at 2 o'clock...they said I can come in anytime tomorrow after the transfer because they have a lot of openings.

My hair appointment is tomorrow at 2 pm...guess I'm cancelling that!! DH and I were at the mall when we got the news so I asked him if I should get my hair done today...but I figure that I'd rather not have any guilt because of my vainess if something should not work as planned...so I'm going to have some LOVELY roots.

No making love till 12 weeks??????????? That would be horrible!!! We are like once every three days people...(TMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)...so do you think we're okay for this evening? One last hurrah?? :o)

Please please pray that I will be calm tomorrow...that things will go smoothly...that my two little embabies will snuggle in for a nice 9 month ride!!!!!!!!!!!

To Dye It or Not To Dye It...

That is the question.

Should I color my hair now?? I have like one and a half inch roots and usually this is when I would color it...I was thinking about going more towards my natural color so I wouldn't have to worry about it if I get pregnant...but do you think it would be bad to have those chemicals in my body now??

Oh...and those inserts...WOW. Definitely need to stock up on pantiliners....can we say NASTY!!!!!!! I've never seen such as this...ew ew gross!!! DH was wondering if we could still make love when I'm putting that medicine inside of me...he was a little worried about "DH junior" getting medicine all over him.

I'm a little worried that this stuff is NASTY...and will I want to make love...when its NASTY.

Did I mention those inserts are gross?

I'm a mommy now!!!!!!

I got the call today at 9:52...way earlier than I had expected!!!! Of the 19 eggs retrieved, 13 were mature and now we have...
9 embabies!!
I woke up hubby to tell him how many kids we have in "daycare" and his eyes got really big...then he laid back down and said "I need to go back to sleep...I don't feel to well...I'm the daddy of nine kids and we're not going to have any money!!!" :o)
Can't wait to hear the continued updates...grow babies grow!!! I feel like I want to go see them...and dream about which ones have his blue eyes...which ones have my hazel eyes...which are girls...which are boys...*sigh*
Today I'm still feeling a little crampy, but I'm going to try to venture outdoors to get some photos developed so I can update my IVF scrapbook.
I did my first insert today (NO MORE SHOTS!!!!!! HALLELU!!!!!!!!) and I didn't realize it was going to be hard like a pill...I was imagining the little round creamy looking pills I see on the vagisil commercials...it went in fine though I guess. I do these inserts three times a day, so I have a box in each bathroom and I need to load up my purse so I'm ready!!
We're still looking at a 5 day transfer...but the nurse said they'll just have to monitor them day by day to see what they want to do.
"The Lord has done great things for us. And we are filled with joy."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God keeps His promises!!!!!!

Okay this rainbow is nowhere near my house (its the coolest one I found online) BUT....I have a story for you.

Two days ago before my trigger shot I was getting nervous and wondering if this was going to work and if I'd just done all these shots and stuff for nothing. I prayed and prayed that God would calm me down and comfort me during this time. I had heard on the radio about a pastor who prayed that God would send some rain the next day if he was supposed to be a pastor. It ended up being the hottest day without a cloud in the sky. However, late that afternoon, there was a split second sun shower and he knew it was God speaking to him.

So I decided to do something similar...I prayed to God that in the next two weeks (I decided to give Him a little more time!!) that he would send me a rainbow so that I would be reminded that He keeps His promises and that He has great plans for my life, no matter what the outcome of this IVF is.

Yesterday it was cloudy and a little sunny so I kept scanning the skies...I hadn't told DH but he randomly said, "This looks like good rainbow weather...wonder if we'll see one." I was like...whoa...and told him my prayer.

All the way to my ER it was also great rainbow weather...but no rainbow appeared....I kept craning my neck to see out of all the car windows.

Just a few minutes ago I wasn't feeling so hot so DH went to get us some dinner. He texted me almost right after he left with a picture message...

OF MY RAINBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was huge...so beautiful....God heard my prayer...wow...feeling...humble now.

Thank you God for answering a silly girl's request. Thank you that you're looking out for me...and I can't wait to see the plans you have for me...because I know they'll be better than what I could muster up for myself!

Pretty in pink!

The ER is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't too horribly nervous...I felt ok...just ready to go!!! The nurse outfit went over well...I know I'm a little crazy with the pictures but that's a negative on posting that one LOL.

We were supposed to be there at 11:15 but arrived at 10:45 and they took us right back to our recovery room, took DH's specimen and had me get in my lovely pink gown. They took my vitals and then the anesthesiologist came in and put my IV in...I was glad because I was really thirsty and felt really dehydrated. He had to poke me twice in the back of the hand and once on the inside of my wrist before he got a good vein...blah.

So I downed half of that fluid bag before it was my turn...we were listening to all the other girls come out...nobody said anything silly (boo!!) and I got to hear how many eggs they pulled out of each of them. The first girl had two and the second had five. I was freaking out then...I was like OH NO...what if I only have two???!!!! The poor girl was bummed and kept saying "All they need is one right?" I wanted to run over there and say "Yes!! Just one...its gonna be okay!!"

Finally it was my turn. I sat on the edge of the bed with the stirrups while they put my sleepy medicine in...then put my legs in the stirrups...I looked at the nurse and said "I'm starting to feel a little woozy" and that's the last thing I remember!!!! I hope I didn't fall backwards onto the bed because I was still sitting up last I remember!

Then I woke up and they said my DH was coming...I was completely alert and felt fine!! DH told me a phrase to tell him when I got out of the ER...to see if I had any amnesia (they said I could have some) so as he was walking up I yelled out the phrase to him "We're going to Bass Pro to look at the Sika deer!!!" (random sorry...my hubby is a hunter and this is what he came up with) :o)

Okay so I've been trying to keep you all in suspense about how many they pulled out....are you ready????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

NINETEEN EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

I guess two follicles were over hiding somewhere! So our first fertilization report will come between 12 and 3pm tomorrow...hope we have some good ones!!
I've already had a sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup...feelin' good...not too crampy...just excited to hear what the report is!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Easter!

Well...not really...but today is the day of the egg hunt!
I felt pretty normal all day yesterday...my acupuncture went well. I had VERY little sleep and was a little nervous about the ER so when I went in there I felt like I had a ball of tension in my chest. After about ten minutes of acupuncture that little ball went away and I could feel like...energy or maybe just blood circulating from my fingers to my toes....it felt so good!! I've done acupuncture twice before...but he put the needles in different places and I felt WAY better. The acupuncture needles hurt less than the shots...if they hurt at all! I would recommend it!
Later that night we ate out at our favorite chinese place (and I had nightmares of me getting food poisoning and not being able to go through with our IVF...yikes!) and walked around the mall...just to get the blood flowing.
Got in bed at 10pm after asking DH to turn the AC to 70 (I keep waking up all hot and sweaty...ugh...I wanted to get a GREAT nights sleep!), set my alarm for 6:15 (I wasn't allowed to eat past 6:45) and snuggled in for the night.
I slept beautifully but when that alarm went off...I felt CRUMMY....BAD cramps...like bend over and clutch your belly bad. I was planning on making eggs and toast but I was NOT hungry and felt nauseated...so I forced some cereal down my throat while I held the heating pad on my belly.
Went back to sleep until 8:30 and I feel just fine! Ready to go!!!!!!
Gonna blow dry my hair...and then help my honey get down to business...I even bought a little nurse outfit for the occasion....(once again...TMI)...
"Honey...the Dr. will see you now!!!"
Bow chica wow wow!!!

PHEW!!!!!!!!

Check that one off the list!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I say I got no sleep before the trigger because of adrenaline and no sleep after because of the adrenaline...I'm so tired right now!!! (p.s. I only had bar.bie and nas.car bandaids at my house...I nanny so I bought fun ones...DH picked this one out...lol)

We got up when my alarm went off at 12:25 and I ran downstairs to ice my heinie. We didn't have any frozen peas or corn so I ended up grabbing some frozen rockfish that hubby caught earlier this summer. That was WAY too cold...so I ended up just putting it on five minutes before.
I told DH that I didn't want to look at the needle...he needed to just prepare it and get it in!! I was too nervous!!
He got it all ready and seriously was just finishing loading the syringe when I announced "IT'S 12:45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I laid on my stomach on the couch (with a blanket under me in case I was a bleeder) and pulled my right knee up...trying to relax my muscles as much as I could.
My heart was pounding so hard...I grabbed Espie and squeezed him SOOOO tight...
DH was like "Are you ready??"
and I said "The alcohol swab!!! Disinfect me!!!"
He did so quickly and I felt so numb back there I said "Do it quick!!!"
I felt the slightest prick...like he had wussed out on me and just poked my skin the smallest bit before pulling back. I was like...you've gotta be kidding me...get it in there honey...but I didn't say anything....
Then he said "I'm putting the medicine in now...."
And I was like "The needle is in??????????????????? I FEEL NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BABY GO!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
So that's my story. Just the slightest prick...that was the EASIEST, most PAIN FREE shot I've done in this entire process. Wow.
I bled just a little bit...so he cleaned me up and got me that nifty bandaid...after I put the heating pad on I felt a little tenderness when I pushed down on it but other than that I'm feeling good!!!
Now I'm just worried every time I pee that all those eggs are going to drop right out of me!!! Stay in there guys!!! Tomorrow's your debut!!!! :o)
Thanks again for all your encouragement and guidance ladies!!!
Today's plan: Acupuncture 9:00 am
Lounge around for the rest of the day. Nice.

Prayers Please!!!!!!!!!!

We are triggering at 12:45am!!!!!!!!!!!

We have to be at the RE's office at 11:10 on Wednesday and thankfully DH gets to bring his "specimen" in with him...we get to take care of that in the comfort of our own home!! YAY!!! I didn't even ask to do it at home, the nurse asked how far I lived from the office and handed DH a cup to write his name on, telling him to "collect" at home!

I'm so glad because DH wanted to bd (can I call it bding when we're not trying for a baby...??) yesterday and I was all for it, but afterwards I was thinking maybe we should have done it today instead so he'd be good to go for Thursday....but we're set now! (Three days is good right?)
Okay...done TMIing...
Egg hunt ensues on Wednesday at 12:45! Come on eggs!! I don't have an official count...when I asked she said they only count my 4 largest ones on each side (???) so that was it. (she wasn't the friendliest of nurses today...)
So I've never uploaded videos before...but here's my first shot at it. I wanted you all to hear my song...I've been singing it in my head through every shot and ultrasound...and I'll be singing it tonight! Man I was nervous...LOL...and my legs look like freakin' trees...shoulda put the camera up a bit..oh well. Hope it works!!
(Update...it worked..I think...but the picture its frozen on is me looking like an idiot...LOL...Hopefully it'll change when I publish LOLOLOLL...it didn't change...LOL....)

Here are the words in case you couldn't understand me or the video didn't work: :o)

I've heard it said a million times,

Just relax it'll happen.

Don't worry it'll all be fine,

Light those candles, get a bottle of wine.

But each month ends up the same.

I see lots of babies...and still none of them are mine!

So I'm prayin' for...waitin' for...

Two lines on that test,

Up all night and hair's a mess.

Ten little fingers, ten chubby toes,

His blue eyes and my nose.

I'm just tryin' to find,

Someone to call me mom.

Doctor said, "It can be done.

Do you like shots? You'll need a ton!"

Another adventure on this journey,

Will it be the one to make me Mommy?????

I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow...thanks for all the tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Lorza...please come over to my house at 12:30am okay??) *wink*

Drumroll please...

We are probably triggering...................

TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am soooooooooo nervous right now. We are still waiting on my bloodwork to see if all is a go...but everything looks ready...I have my little targets drawn on my love handles...so DH knows where to put that thing!!!

I was wearing a dress when the nurse drew these circles on so I was standing there in my underwear....she definitely told me I had cute panties...all you nurses out there...don't comment on your patient's panties...please...its a little weird!!! lol!! At least it wasn't a thong! :o)

So I need to hear what you all do to make the trigger more tolerable...ice it...rub it...stick it in like a dart...go in slowly...whatever...

Let me just remind all of you of how LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG that needle is!!

My heart is racing...ugh...say a little prayer for me girls!!!

And the fun continues...

My lil sis is in town! Hooray! She was kind enough to give me my Lupron injection this morning...yay! She used to be a vet tech and was so experienced getting the injection all ready...wow!!

We headed off to my appointment this morning and everything still looks good I guess...on my right side 7 are measuring at 10mm or greater...and...I can't remember what she said about the left side...LOL...whoops...but those follicles looked huge! She said three of them will probably be mature tomorrow so I need to go in...and hopefully a few more will be maturing by then too...

She said my lining looks great...they want it to be more than an 8 and I'm at a 17...not sure what that means...but yay!
I have to go in tomorrow to see what's up...and she said by the looks of it I may be triggering on Tuesday night and then ER on Thursday!! (Which was what my RE approximated in the beginning so he was right on I guess!)

Wow..can't believe its coming down to the wire now...gettin nervous!!!

Just for laughs...here's my "guard cat"...yeah that's my box of meds!!! :o)

My Best Friend!!!!

I've been meaning to do this for a week or two now...but I want to introduce you to my very best friend!!! She was my college roommate and was actually the only roommate I didn't hate after two weeks of living together! Just to give you an idea of how close we are...she was the girl who held my wedding dress up as I peed...that's a good friend right there! She introduced me to sweet tea...and the "to go" cup...(any of you northerners go to a restaurant...drink your coke and then get the refill in a "to go" cup so you can take it with you?? I'd never heard of that...I guess its all the rage in the south!) :o)

She has the cutest southern accent you've ever heard in your life...and I recently discovered that we have even more in common than I thought...infertility. Ugh. So of course when I heard about her issues I said "Girl...get a blog!" So go check it out and give her some love!

Thanks guys...

I was feeling really defeated after that ultrasound appointment...I thought I was going to cry...going from 17 to 8 was kindof...scary. But I pushed the hormones aside, ate an obscene amount of semi-sweet chocolate chips (the only chocolate I could find in my house!), read your comments and felt better.

Now I'm trying to think positively again...and so I was thinking about how some of you had some really cute ways to tell your hubby you're expecting and wondered what I might do...

I think I'll probably have him right there every time I POAS...I think I want us to find out together...but I just found this link on another blog and HAD to order this onesie!!! (is that how you spell it....it looks like oh-ness-ee....hmmm...you get what I mean...) :o)

http://faithbaby.com/

First of all..could that little girl get ANY cuter...and second I felt that this was soooo fitting...oh and btw way the second onesie purchase I plan to make which is the one that says "I'm expensive"...lol. I decided to get this one in blue and brown because I don't think our son will ever be dressed in anything pink (Dh would have a fit!) and I could get a really cute blue headband for a girl so she wouldn't look like a boy.

Wow...its a little TOO much fun to buy baby stuff...I just keep thinking to myself...I might have half my baby growing inside of me right now!!!!!!! (is that weird?) :o)

Oh...and my doses are still the same...5units lupron and 150 bravelle in the morning...75 bravelle and 75 menopur in the evening...I can handle that!

And then there were 8...

Had my appointment today and it looks like I have 8 follicles that are at 10 mm...wow that was quite a drop!! But it looks like there's four on both sides! So at least my endometriomas aren't causing any more problems than my normal ovary is!

Definitely feels like I have 17 still growing in there...I opted for a sundress today instead of jeans...I'm getting a little bloated and it just feels like I have two little rocks in my belly. I asked about taking some Tylenol to make me a bit more comfortable (okay once again...I'm a pansy...I know some of you gals have like 30 follicles growing!!!) and she said it would be fine.

The shots are going okay...I guess I was doing them a little too close to my belly button...(they said go an inch down from your belly button and to the left or right of that...but I didn't know how far left or right!) so I'm going to give it a try a little further out now.

Just waiting to see if they want to keep my doses the same or change them up...

I'm excited because my sister is coming to my Sunday appointment so she'll get to see my follies!! Its a family affair!! :o)

Chef Espie

Lets cook us up a baby!!!

Had a little help with my injections this evening...Espie whipped them right up for me...what a great guy!

DH wanted to get a picture of me smiling with the shot in my hand...he didn't like any of my scared faces...lol...I think smiling does not accurately show the way I was feeling in that moment!

Thanks guys...I feel like a wuss...

*wink*
So the shots aren't supposed to burn...I'm just a pansy...oh well... :o)

Had my first ultrasound after stimming and my "good" ovary had 10 follicles and my "bad" (endometrioma infested) ovary had 7!!!

Everything was progressing nicely by the looks of it...just have to wait til this evening to see if my doses change at all.

I'm definitely aware of my ovaries...they feel like very small rocks...when I lean forward and stuff. And I feel like AF pains...but I think its just ovary pain...I dunno.

And I have a dull headache that just won't go away...not sure if its stress...or a side effect...who knows. I've definitely been a sneeze away from bursting into tears for the past two days...DH better be careful...not that I'm mad at him over anything..and the faucet's been a little leaky lately...but that's just like the tremors before the big earthquake...you'd better watch out!!

Maybe I just need a nap.

I need to clean though...about three loads of laundry have been sitting on our couch (folded nicely) for 3 days...haven't felt like hauling it upstairs and putting it away. *sigh*

Anyhoo...I guess 17 is my lucky number...I hope...is there a chance more could show up in my Friday ultrasound? And what is the "ideal" measurement for a mature follicle? What number should I be hoping for?

Naptime. Yeah.

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

Um...OWW??!!

Stimming hurts.

I cried like a baby after the first shot. I tried to be really strong...and even just laid there for five minutes after I gave myself the shot...with DH holding my hand....but then I turned to him and said "I think I need to cry a little bit"....and cry I did.

As I cried I thought about how lovely it would be to make love over and over again to make a baby...rather than give myself shots over and over again to make a baby.

Blah blah blah...*sigh*

That stuff just burns...but the past few have been a little better...I just go ridiculously slow. I've been somewhat aware of my ovaries...especially yesterday...random pinches...and then last night DH and I were sitting in bed doing our devotions and my right ovary felt like it was twitching over and over again...perhaps it was just a lower abdominal muscle...but something felt weird down there.

I'm probably thinking too much about all this and making up random feelings down below! Who knows...its what us IF girls do best right? :o)

I nannied for those IVF kids (that sounds weird...) ;o) yesterday and their mom keeps telling them to be nice to me because I'm trying to put a baby in my belly...so they started to tell me some baby names that they thought we should consider...

Benjamin's suggestions for a boy (because he didn't think there was any way it could be a girl...why would I want a girl??) *wink*:

1.Waldo
2. Ernie
3. Gary Michael

I especially like name number one...poor kid wouldn't stand a chance in high school!!! :o)

I'm getting pretty nervous about tomorrow...hoping the stims are doing their job...who knows??!! My silly endometriomas might mess the whole thing up...*sigh*

We shall see. Trying my best to trust in His plan...

Stim-sational!!!!!!!

I am hoping that this will be a replica of my right ovary in about a week and a half!!! :o)

I went to my ultrasound appointment today and everything looked fine. They checked to see if I have any follicles on my left ovary (where the endometriomas are) and it looks like there are four...and they were happy with that. I'm not too happy with four...but once again I remind myself it only takes ONE!!!

They measured my endometriomas for me and one is 2cm x 2cm and the other is 4cm x 4cm. Those little buggers hurt too during AF time...I get lots of pain in that zone...hoping there won't be too much pain when those four little follies get bigger!

Anyhoo...I start stimming tonight...75 Bravelle and 75 Menopur. Then I do 5 units of Lupron and 150 Bravelle in the morning...and continue the evening and morning routine until Wednesday when I have my next ultrasound. Nice.

Question:

They say to alternate sides when giving yourself the shots...if I'm doing three a day....what do I do? Am I putting the Bravelle on one side, the Lupron on the other in the morning and then just picking a side for the Bravelle, Menopur combo in the evening?

This pretty much sums up what I feel like right now...

Yup...I'm the tomato. BUT...I'm pushin' on...and the shots are getting easier (good thing!)...and I'm trying to stay positive!!!

I even wrote a song! Its called "Someone To Call Me Mom". I am having my sister head over from PA on Wednesday....and I told her to bring her guitar....so as long as there aren't any Simon Cowell types out there I'm going to try to tape it for you all so you can enjoy. (or have a good laugh). :o)

We're goin' to the zoo!!!!!

Well...we went to the zoo. It was a bit rainy at first, but ended up being fine later. DH begged me to let him wear this hat around the zoo. It was conveniently "lost" a few minutes after this photo was taken.

And yes, this next picture is of me and a stork...mom told me the stork story when I started asking questions about how babies were made a little too early...who knows...maybe there's some truth to them!!! :o) I figured I wouldn't take any chances and said "hi!".

Since we were in the area...we acted like tourists for a little bit and went over to the White House. Oh boy!

Can you see the Washington Monument?? :o)

In baby making news...AF is still MIA...and tomorrow will be 8 days on lupron. Called my nurse and she said to make an appointment for Sunday morning because they don't want me on lupron for more than nine days. Fine with me!!! I'm tired of painstakingly examining each little wad of toilet paper...lol. :o)

*** Update*** AF reared her ugly head later that evening...not any lighter...not any less painful. Ugh. Thought I was going to get away with a free month! *sigh*

Stinks though...cuz on my little "approximate" schedule I was supposed to start (AF) on the 16th...giving me the egg retrieval date of the 30th...but I guess it'll all have to be pushed back now. Boo.

100th Post!!!

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!! Okay totally thought my last post was my 100th...coulda sworn it said 99...must have said 98...I can't be blamed though...I haven't had much sleep since I started shooting up. Nice.
So for my 100th post I decided to give you a glimpse into an infertile's home. Check it out!!!

Infertile's kitchen counter:
I hope this is not really unsanitary and grossing people out!!!!! Just tell me if I should move it! LOL.

Inferile's fridge:

And last but not least, the infertile's bathroom reading material!

Yes, I know the toilet paper holder is ugly. It came with the house...but it holds TWO ROLLS PEOPLE....anything that saves me time is awesome!! Plus it holds the magazines...bonus. Yeah hubby is into Reptiles...no we don't have any currently in our house...hallelujah!! One more side note...I hate it when the toilet paper is put on that way...its gotta go OVER not UNDER....good grief people!! :o)

Hope you enjoyed the tour! Thanks again for all your support girls...you all are my counselors...my comforters...my friends. ((((((HUGS))))))

I hate nature...

Okay...not really. But I DO hate poison ivy. Never had poison ivy before. Well I got it now...LOVELY.

It itches...

So...

BAD.

I can't sleep...though maybe that's the Lupron...(all I do is dream all night...WEIRD dreams...most of which end up in the bathroom...maybe I need to drink less water??) But I wake up and my arm is sooooooo itchy.

I've tried Ivy Dry and Calamine lotion and its just getting worse. I'm thinking I need to head to the dermatologist this week...its been almost two weeks of this.

I was worried we were going to have to cancel my IVF...but from what I've seen online the drugs they give you can be okay and some may even help! Its on my forearm, on the inside of my upper arm and in the crook of my elbow...which would be weird if they're trying to draw blood from me and its a swollen blistery mess. YUCK.

The shots are still going allright. I did my third one today and it was more painful...and I bled...and some of the medicine came out. Now, they told me not to freak if the medicine came out...and I figure I bled because of the baby asprin....but why did it hurt so much??? I was probably a centimeter away from my day 1 injection site...maybe that's why it was more uncomfortable. Maybe I need to spread them out a bit more.

Yeah...this is not what I thought my 100th post would look like...was hoping more for a BFP post...but hey...

Thanks for reading gals...this journey is a lot easier when you're walking with friends!! :o)

First Injection!

And we're off!!! One down...too many to go!!! :o) I was a little shakey...and put the needle and Lupron in really slowly...DH was watching carefully and Espie was by my side. My best guys!

Every day a little closer...

Praying for my miracle!!!!!

Lets make a baby!!!

Definitely not your typical candles, rose petals and romance...but hey...it'll get the job done (hopefully!).

You guys weren't kidding...that is a LOT of stuff...I just kept looking at DH like...what have we gotten ourselves into???

Question...I see the needles that I need for the Lupron...but I feel like the Bravelle/Menopur needles were longer (when we went to the class) and I don't see them there. Are they in the boxes? Or do I use those small Lupron needles for them as well? We got to the class late so maybe I missed something.

Guess I should check out that manual they gave me!!! :o)
(Update...I checked the manual and opened a few boxes...I see now the lupron comes with its own needles...and the other nice and short needles are for the Bravelle/Menopur...Hallelujah!!!)

Here is what scares me the most...duh-duh-duh-duuuuhh....

(I hope I put the right med with that needle...lol...) That sucker is so LONG....

There was this VERY petite asian woman in our injection class and she saw that needle and about passed out. She raised her hand and said "I am small...that needle will go right out the other side of me!!"

It probably would too!

The instructor said they'd measure her and see if they should use a shorter needle for her...though that happens in very rare cases.

Man...me and me big American heinie...boo.

Hershey!!!

Spent the day today with my sister in good 'ol Hershey PA!!! Needless to say my chocolate cravings have been satisfied for the next century!! :o) YUM!!! We even got to pretend to be factory workers and package chocolate for the store (yeah...we were a good 15 years older than all the other participants...but who cares??!!) :o)

The sign above me says "Where kisses make dreams come true!" If only it were that easy!! :o) I certainly got enough hershey kisses today...maybe they'll make my dreams come true!! (No harm in tryin'! ha ha)

I also ordered my meds today and they're coming in tomorrow!!!!! I was feeling super excited on the ride home today...I can't believe this process is about to start!!!

In other news, my best friend from college just discovered today that she has PCOS...the first thing I told her was "GIRL...GET A BLOG!!!!!" I told her there are lots of girls out there with what she has and she should read their stories and post hers!!! So she's getting started on that right now...she's also going to start clomid too....wishing her the best of luck and sending lots of prayers!!!

Happy (Belated) Fourth of July!!

We decided to take Coastie to the dog beach for the fourth...he had a blast!! He definitely is a water dog...hence his breed name...Chesapeake Bay Retriever!!

Here is a not so cute picture of me and Coastie...but I had to add it in! (Dern wind) :o)

Poor DH had to work that night so I went to see the fireworks with my preggo friend...she's barely got a bump...so cute.

I'm ordering my meds tomorrow...(we decided to wait until some more of my babysitting money came in...to help with the dent its going to make on our account) :o) And will be shooting up on Saturday!!! Can't believe this week is actually here! I didn't think it would ever come!

I feel like I'm totally wishing my summer away with this whole IVF thing...

But I'll know soon enough.

And school will start.

And life will go on.

Trying to take a day at a time...enjoy now...today...every moment.

OUCH!!!

Went to the injection class today after my mock transfer...it was quite...informative!!!

We really do have to be little chemists...don't we?

Sounds like the last shot I have to do is the trigger and then I just do vaginal inserts...have any of you done those? Should I be wishing I was doing more heinie muscle shots?
The Lupron needle looks lovely...it shall be my friend.
The trigger needle...not so much.

I embarrassed DH again because I took pictures of us in the class...poor guy. I've decided since I have so much free time this summer I'm going to make a scrapbook of "Our Journey to Baby W."....here are the first couple pages...I also have a page of us signing the consent forms...but they have TMI on them for a blog!! (sorry girls...) :o)

This picture was taken at my sister's wedding...she used the paper parasols that I had in my wedding...its such a cute accessory!!!

This is my first time doing a scrapbook...and I have to say its quite fun. A bit more of an investment than I thought...there are just way too many cute papers and stickers that you can buy!!! I definitely bought a sheet of doctor stickers...complete with syringe!!!!! :o) I need to get a nice paper cutter thingy, because using the scissors and my untrained eye isn't giving me the best edges...that'll be next on the list when I go to Wal-Mart.

Can't wait til the 11th...let the games begin!
