5 months!

How on earth has it been nearly a month since I've posted???!!! Wow...I figure I'm due for a post already! :o)
Things have been going great over here...I am officially a SAHM and I am loving it! I was definitely feeling a bit lost when the school buses roared past on Monday, but when I looked at the two chubby little cuties I was pushing in the stroller I knew I was right where I needed to be. I know I'll be back at work soon enough...I'm going to try to enjoy this year and hope that this one year leave of absence turns into TWO. :o) We'll see about that.
In kiddo news...lets see...both of them are rolling over like crazy. They hate being on their bellies so momma is constantly rolling them back onto their backs. Silly babies.
I've gotten a couple good laughs out of both kids, but nothing really consistant...I can't wait until I can hear those giggles daily!
We are still breastfeeding and my pediatrician doesn't usually start her babies on rice cereal until 6 months so we are waiting on that. She said we could start if I really really wanted to, but I figure I'll just wait since they are sleeping through the night...and it'd be just one more thing I'd have to do...and clean.. :o)
My parents just moved back to our side of the country...which is just plain lovely. I've been calling my mom a lot to help out with the kiddos...probably more than I should...but Nana doesn't seem to mind *wink*. I even got a pedicure last week.....I was pretty excited about that!! :o)
Caelyn is still my easy-going child. She will lay around and usually wait pretty patiently while I feed her brother. She gets really excited very easily...especially about bathtime! She splashes and kicks and smiles nearly the whole time! She stays awake nearly the whole day with only a couple cat naps...when we go out I usually have Carter in the back of the stroller (either in his car seat...asleep...or with the back seat reclined...so he can sleep!) and Caelyn in front. I went grocery shopping with my mom the other day (how nice to have someone to push the cart!!!) and Caelyn was in the front of the stroller talking to every one who walked by....and when no one was walking by...she talked to the groceries on the shelves!!! She lost her socks several times she was kicking so much! Silly girl!
Carter is my high maintinence child. He looooves to be held. He looooves his swing. And this boy looooves to sleep. :o) When he isn't sleeping though...you barely have to look at him and he will smile. He is the smiliest (is that how you spell that??!) boy...and his smiles are HUGE...big wide open mouth. He enjoys putting everything in his mouth...and constantly has his hands or a toy in there. His hair is starting to come in a little more (but he's still definitely a baldy!) so I'm getting excited about spiking it up in the next couple of months! :o) He is such a little observer...he will watch people and things go by with such wide eyes. He was rolling over before his sister...but he still has a little trouble holding his neck up sometimes...he's just very floppy...but we're working on it...the pediatrician said he needs to work out with his daddy! :o)
I think that's really all the news I have...I know I'm forgetting something...but I will try to post more than once a month so I remember all the good stuff! :o) I'll leave you with their latest photo shoot (which, speaking of photography, I have actually gotten a few "jobs" photographing other children....its been a lot of fun!!)
Here are my 5 month old cuties!!

Carter's 4 month photo shoot

Man...I love this little boy!!! :o)
He just started rolling over yesterday...but he doesn't love being on his belly...he cries until I flip him onto his back...and then of course he rolls right back over!! Silly boy!

I cried today....

and its been a while since I've cried. I was thinking about that the other day...and I'm sure I've had some good reasons for a good cry (especially when I'm trying to wrangle two screaming babies by myself)...but I haven't cried in probably two months.

But I cried today.

Today was the day (one year ago) that my babies were concieved. Not just Carter and Caelyn...but 9 beautiful embabies were concieved on this day. When we were doing IVF I just prayed and prayed that only the children I could keep would be concieved. I prayed that only 4 embryos would be made...and that two embabies would be able to be freezed so that I could have all of them.

I know that there are many differing views on this topic...but I believe that those were my children....that they ARE my children....

And I cried today.

I cried because I can see these two beautiful children before me...and know there were 7 others. That I'll never kiss their chubby cheeks or see their faces light up in a smile. I'm not sure how it goes in heaven...if they'll still be a bunch of cells...or if they'll be adult people that I can talk to...I'm not sure how all that works. So I guess I will see them someday...

But I still cried for them today.

Thank you God for my two little miracles...and the seven others that are with You now...I never thought I'd ever be a mommy...thank You for giving me these two precious gifts...I will treasure them always.

I'm still here!!

I figured since today marks exactly 1 year since I started my Lupron and Asprin...yes...the start of my IVF cycle...I'd better post!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooo nervous to do that shot...so anxious about what the future might hold....
I had no idea it'd look like this.....

...and I couldn't be happier. I am enjoying every minute of being a mother to these two precious little people. They are getting more and more fun by the minute!

They are growing so fast...I can't wait to see what they are weighing these days...last month they were both 11lbs 3oz...we go at the end of this month to see how much more they've grown! I have a feeling Carter is going to weigh more than Caelyn this time!

Little Caelyn is such a doll....she is so laid back and patient...just the other day her brother was crying his eyes out (he wanted to be held of course!) and she turned to him, clasped her hands together and started cooing at him. It was the cutest thing ever. He didn't stop crying...but I think in the future she'll be my little peacemaker. Such a cutie.

We are getting so many smiles from these little guys...definitely makes it so much fun!! I love interacting with them!!!

Carter is our fiesty boy/love bug...he wants to be held...pretty much all the time...which his daddy doesn't mind too much...

We had a great Fourth of July...they stayed awake nearly all day...and I seriously think they saw (and maybe even enjoyed) the fireworks...we were far enough away so that they weren't loud...but the kids were definitely looking in their direction the whole time. It was so fun to share that with them!!!

The Fourth of July was also the first night they SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!! We got 8 1/2 hours of sleep that night...9 hours the next...and we've been going pretty strong since then except for one night Caelyn woke up at 3am to eat.....yeah momma's lovin' this!!! :o)

The kids were even in the local paper for the Fourth of July parade...yeah...we're a little famous around here now. :o)
Yesterday was mommy and daddy's five year anniversary...so my IL's came over to watch the kiddos while we had our FIRST NIGHT OUT!!!!!!!!
You know I love my kids.
But I'd be lyin' if I said I wasn't a LITTLE excited!! :o)
We had a blast...a nice four course meal...then off to see Eclipse...perfect date night.
Then I came home to two sleeping babies...and you know I just HAD to wake them up for a snuggle (bad momma!!)...cause I really did miss them!! Thankfully they went right back down! :o)
So that's our life in a nutshell...and it couldn't be sweeter.
What a difference a year makes.
