Fill me in!!!

Okay girls...now that I'm gearing up for this IVF cycle I am wondering what I can be doing right now to get my body in prime baby making condition!! I'm taking my prenatal vitamins, I'm going to acupuncture and I'm trying to shed a few pounds with my jogging...

What have you heard you're supposed to drink/ not drink....eat/not eat....do/not do in order to get ready for IVF??? What things help those little eggs multiply....and what helps baby implant??

Remember, I'm the girl who rubbed honey and cinnamon on my gums so nothing is too silly...I want to know!!!

Fighting off summer boredom...

....with a little music!!!

I ordered these books off Amazon.com and they finally came in today!!! (don't worry, the Princess collection vol. 1 is coming in the mail shortly as well!!) I decided that I should try to better myself somehow this summer and since I played piano for about two years when I was in elementary school I decided to see what I remembered. Right now I've been playing (or trying to play) "Mighty to Save" for about 45 minutes and typing is very similar to playing piano so my fingers are pooped right now!! :o) I had to get the Disney collections because I simply LOVE belting out all the fun songs that the princesses sing!! Its interesting because I will play "name that movie" with my Kindergarten students they don't know half the disney songs!! (Maybe I'm one of the few that really pays attention to the songs...I dunno...)

Also...this picture oughta give you a smile...little Buttercup...she's so funny how her teeth protrude like that... :o) Little piggy girl. She just got a new collar yesterday though...so beautiful!

Welcome AF!!!

Once again...I am surprised by my happiness that my cycle has begun!!! Hip hip HOORAY!! I called my nurse and it ends up she is not in the office today, so I spoke with another nurse and she told me to get in touch with my nurse on monday rather than starting my new birth control pack on CD3...I guess she didn't see a "plan" laid out in my files so she wants me to check with my nurse.

Its probably because my pap results haven't been sent to them yet. They were supposed to call me with the results a week after I had it, but they never called so I finally got ahold of them today and they are faxing the results over to my REs office today! Everything was normal there, so that's good.

DH has off today so I won't be so bored!!! Yay!! I think we are going to take our biggest dog Coasty to the park where we got married to play in the water...he is such a good swimmer! (He's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever...its in his blood!)

Summer is...

BOOORRRINNGGG...plus I haven't seen sun for three days now. Its pouring right now. I can't even lay out and get a super awesome tan!! Oh well...I've just been cleaning the house and organizing and trying not to spend too much money!!! (Shopping is one of my favorite pastimes...and I haven't got much else to do!!!)

DH DVRed the show "Baby Lab" for us to watch the other day. Pretty much it chronicles couples as they try to achieve pregnancy through IVF. Definitely showed the shots...and a lot of butts...could have gone without seeing the butt shot...that thing is...a little too close to four inches long it looked like to me...OH BOY. I can't decide if it was such a great idea to watch, but I guess I'd rather try to prepare myself now. Definitely feeling a bit nervous...I know I'm just going to sit there and cry when it comes to shot time...when I was little (okay even in high school) I would sing "Jesus Loves Me" whenever I got shots because I was so nervous...it made me feel better! I'm worried about DH too...he looked even more nervous than me when the video showed those husbands sticking their wives heinies...I asked him if he thought he'd be able to do it and he just hugged me really tight...

May have to come up with a backup plan! :o)

I'm officially going to take my third sugar pill this evening...which means I get to call the drs office on Saturday to tell them I've started my new pack!!! Then I get my schedule...yay!! Still no sign of AF...but my friend who took Yaz said hers wouldn't come until the first day of the new pack which is interesting. Any of you have that experience?

Allright...time to clean something!!!

All this from a little pill???

Any of you have to take Yaz? Did it make you crazy hormonal...like...ready to cry at a pin drop??!! This week I cried because DH overcooked my burger (I like mine with a little "moo" left in them...). It was quite ridiculous and I knew it was silly but the tears were coming and they would not be stopped. (poor DH!! thankfully he has somehow gotten an extra dose of compassion and doesn't get irritated...we'll see how long that lasts!!!) ;o)

Perhaps it was a combo of the pill and school coming to an end. It gets a little stressful at the end, but yesterday was my official last day and it was a WONDERFUL day!!! Today was equally nice...not that I did anything in particular...a little Scrabble with the hubby...we did yard work (I mowed, he weed wacked)...and I sat on the deck drinking lemonade and crying 'cause it was such a wonderful day. Good grief.

Can't wait to see what those shots do to me...

Yah...could be interesting.

Good thing I won't be responsible for a classroom full of children then...could be scary.
I started running this week...bought brand new running shoes and somehow I've managed to go four times this week. Well...I use the term running quite loosely. Jog is more like it...but it feels good to get the blood flowing! Hopefully I can stick to it through the summer...we'll see...I'm not too good at sticking to workout regimes...in college I was...but that's cause I had no job (other than school) and everyone was running...*sigh* We'll see....
I will leave you with a pic of hubby and I at my sister's rehearsal dinner...just wanted you to see my crazy spray tan. I was an oompah loompah...I miss it though...better than Casper...

Welp...time for Scrabble round two.

Award!!

Thank you so much to Marie for nominating me for this award! Actually she did it a while ago...I just haven't sat down and had time to write about the seven things I love!!

Here are the rules...

1. When given the award, you write about seven things that you love.

2. Pass the award to seven bloggers that you love, and be sure to tag them and let them know they've won. (You can copy the award and post it on your sideboard.)

Okay so here are the seven things that I love in no particular order......

1. Starbucks. Not good...too much sugar/caffeine/fat/calories/$$$$$$$ BUT I LOVE IT!! The best thing about my dad is, he has a caramel frap once a day...usually a caramel light with no whip....but its every day!!! So I love when he's on my side of the united states and he makes sure everyone else gets one a day also...his treat!!! In the winter I like the caramel machiattos and in the summer I like the caramel frap (NOT LIGHT!) with an extra shot of expresso...but really I have it only like twice a month! Not an addict!! :o)

2. Pedicures. Though my husband has told me never to enjoy one again because he read about the foot fungii you can get from the little foot bath. YUCK. But I just love having smooth feet and pretty toenails....plus toenail polish doesn't chip as fast as fingernail polish so I don't feel as bad spending the money. Though I only get this pleasure about five times a year...*sigh*

3. Laughing. I love to laugh...tell me a good joke...recommend a funny movie/show...I love it!! That's probably most of the reason I love working with children....they always say the funniest stuff and I am laughing all day!!

4. My family. Most of them are a plane ride or at least a long car ride away...but when we get together its always lots of fun! Its great to be around people who accept you for who you are...and who are supportive of you!

5. My husband. Our four year anniversary is coming up...and while we are not living the life we both imagined we would be living at this point...it doesn't really matter...there's no one else I'd rather be with!!! He is definitely my best friend...

6. Blogging! I haven't been keeping up with it as much lately....but reading your posts about your life struggles/successes has brought me more hope...more joy...and more strength and I thank you all for sharing your lives with me!!

7. God. Comforter, Protector, Lover of my soul, Creator, Savior, Redeemer...Friend that I can always turn to...talk to...always by my side.

Okay those are my seven things!!! And the nominees are....!!!

**Wishing and Hoping and Thinking and Praying**

Well..shoot...

I guess I was wrong about my whole IVF schedule. I figured since they put me on BC that meant that next cycle we were doing IVF...but......

I'm in the "prescreening" phase where they check my blood, DH's blood (though we didn't want any genetic testing...so I'm not sure what they're checking...) and make sure my insurance is good to go.

I called my nurse freaking out because I was looking through the paperwork and it said I needed to have a mock transfer. I googled mock transfer it said it needs to be on cd3-11...and I was on cd14! I was totally bummed because I thought that because I hadn't gotten my pap smear done yet because my mind has been occupied with other things (my lil sis got married/report cards/conferences/house guests/etc)...no excuse really...this is my #1 priority right!!??

My nurse said don't worry...as soon as I take my next active pill after AF comes then she'll order the meds and send me a schedule.

So it looks like August might be my lucky month.

Right before school starts again.

Right before the stress starts again.

And I'd probably find out about my BFP or my bfn (yeah I whispered that one...shouldn't even say it...) the day of Kindergarten conferences (we have to have conferences before the kiddos come to talk to the parents about the children so we know what's coming!!!) :o)

But if I just found out about a bfn and am severely depressed...I may not want to ask a parent "So at what age did little Molly say her first word? Take her first step?" Etc....etc....

Maybe I shouldn't sit here and think about all this.

But what can I say...I am woman...I will think (torturous as it may be)...and unfortunately IF has made me very...skeptical...and has made me try to callous myself towards any future disappointment...though it never works.

Am I trusting God when I think these things?? NO. I just need to calm down and trust the Guy who has my life in His hands.

Actually my first thought when I found out we probably wouldn't be doing IVF until August was "Okay, God must want me to have a May baby...I'm okay with that!"

And now...I'm going to watch a movie with DH and try to distract myself. :o)
